The Details
Escapade Music Festival is the first festival of its kind in the NCR. It is an event dedicated to the development of the electronic music scene and demographic in the NCR.
Escapade Music Festival's goals are to produce a festival during the Canada Day time frame that is unrivalled in the country by combining:
the most sought after international talent,
best and most accomplished local talent,
over-the-top production,
along with unparalleled service and ambiance.
Escapade Music Festival made its debut in 2010 with over 3,000 people attending the inaugural event that featured sound and visual production never experienced with an event of this kind in the NCR. The event was headlined by Canadian-born superstar, Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Deadmau5.
In 2011, Escapade Music Festival came back even stronger with an artist who had never performed in Ottawa and is known as the biggest DJ in the world — TIËSTO. In addition to TIËSTO, patrons had the chance to see two more international stars:
Laidback Luke
Calvin Harris (also his first time in Ottawa)
...as well as six local and national DJs. Attendance nearly doubled from the first year, reaching nearly 5,000 people.
With increasing demand for this type of music and event in the NCR, DNA Presents moved the festival to Ottawa Stadium for its 2012 edition. With headliners like:
Avicii
Afrojack
Eric Prydz
...the festival grew to 15,000 attendees.
In 2013, Escapade continued its momentum, growing to over 20,000 attendees over 2 days at the RA Centre.
For its 5th anniversary in 2014, Escapade hit a record 28,000 attendees at its newest home — The Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Finally, in 2015, Escapade returned to Rideau Carleton Raceway for two amazing days of music — once again headlined by Deadmau5, the Canadian-born superstar and Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer.
