Who's Sun-EL Musician
From teaching himself how to produce, with Atjazz, Calvin Harris and Charles Webster as his sonic guides, to working with Black Coffee, Bucie, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats among others, Johannesburg-based multi faceted talent Sun-EL Musician has managed to forge a legacy within the music industry that celebrates a fresh take on Afro-house and soul music, elevates dance-floor experiences and creates hope where there was once none. Sun-El describes himself as dealing in dreams; even if all we have is a prayer in our pockets, he insists that there is always a way forward. Releasing his debut album Africa to the World in 2017, he went on to achieve mainstream success which included the massively successful “Akanamali” featuring Samthing Soweto, “Sonini” and “Ntaba Ezikude” with Simmy, which were all certified double platinum. At the 2018 South African Music Awards (SAMAs), Africa to the World was nominated for the Newcomer of the Year Awards, Best Dance Album and Record of the Year (“Sonini”) which all turned into wins. The considerable success of his debut album, propelled him toward embarking on an album tour which covered most of Southern Africa, along with a string of equally successful singles in “Imsimbi” featuring Mthunzi and “Into Ingawe” featuring Ami Faku.
