Who's Nathan Burns
For over two decades, Nathan Burns has embodied the vibrant and ever-evolving spirit of electronic music in Montreal. A respected DJ, producer, and co-owner of the iconic Salon Daomé, he is one of the city’s most influential figures, known for his sharp artistic vision and his ability to gather a loyal audience around a sound that is deep, minimal, and refined.
Nathan’s journey began in 2000, as he dove into the world of house and techno, quickly forging a signature sound of his own. His project Microzoo, initially a weekly night at Salon Daomé, evolved into a renowned record label, offering a home for a distinctive sonic palette of groovy and hypnotic grooves.
As a long-standing resident and artistic director of Salon Daomé, Nathan has played a vital role in curating the venue’s musical direction, helping to shape it into a cornerstone of Montreal’s electronic culture. Beyond the booth, his role as co-owner reflects his commitment to nurturing the local scene and opening it to diverse artistic influences.
His dynamic and soulful sets have earned him appearances at some of the most celebrated venues, including Stereo and StéréoBar, as well as international stages such as Brunch in the Park, Nitsa, and Moog in Barcelona, and Sisyphos and Suicide Circus in Berlin.
Currently back in the studio, Nathan Burns is crafting new material, soon to be released on Microzoo and other aligned platforms. With a meticulous approach to sound, a sharp sense of musical curation, and a deep connection to his community, he continues to inspire the next generation of DJs and music lovers.
