As one of Canada’s rising musical mavericks, Elias Erium has emerged from his country’s avant-garde electronic landscape. Created by Montreal based producer Elias Barouche (previously known as Solid Stone), Elias Erium is an artist moniker for contemporary electronic music. Drawing from his roots of house, techno and progressive; while taking inspiration from the new and emerging melodic dance music styles. Elias has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of melody and groove, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. Noted for his attention to detail and clever rhythmic coaxes, Elias’ craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations an incredibly absorbing experience.
The moniker’s inaugural project, ‘Keep In Touch’ would set the Canadian on a course for aural enlightenment. Released via Eleatics subsidiary Aletheia Recordings, the three-track showcase would ultimately spearhead what has been a two-year creative swell. Elias’ penchant for crafting memorable dance floor creations was then quickly recognized by Steyoyoke, the much-lauded Berlin powerhouse where Elias would release his first remix, an inspired rendition of Monarke's 'Zenitude'.
Firmly established going forward, Elias’ Phenomena imprint would act as the primary home for a consistent stream of superlative projects, one which would see him release eight originals and a collaboration across a ten-month stretch. Heralded by many as a breakout year for the fast-rising phenom, Erium’s ethereal energies were a breath of fresh air across the ever-shifting landscape of melodic house and techno, with the genre’s premiere tastemakers, Adriatique and Mind Against being steadfast supporters along the way.
Also beloved as a DJ, Elias has been applauded for his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills. The Montreal resident continues to search for the freshest sounds and new inspiring talent. It’s these unique choices tied with a keen dancefloor sensibility which have made his extended sets so memorable, and in turn share the stage with Kevin De Vries, Adam Ten, Cassian, 8Kays and Testpilot. Running for over 2 years, ‘The Outer Experience’ is a monthly podcast where Elias showcases his love for taking the listener on a journey, a two-hour sonic voyage where groove meets emotion, and you get a glimpse into the mind of an artist who thrives on delivering memorable musical moments.
