Axwell
Λ
Ingrosso took the
fi
rst step on his journey as a kid in Lund.
He discovered a music game on his old school Amiga 500 desktop and unassumingly
unlocked his future in the process.
“Where I’m from, it was hard to create a band,” he recalls. “I was so serious with my drums,
and I realized the group thing wasn’t going to work out since I lived out in the country. I found
that game on the computer, and I felt like I could actually create something for the
fi
rst time.”
In 1995, he dropped his very
fi
rst vinyl, adopting the moniker OXL. By the turn of the century,
he emerged as a sought-after remixer. He delivered popular remixes of “Burn” by Usher, “Ma, I
Don’t Love Her” by Clipse and Faith Evans, “Maybe” by N*E*R*D, “Angel” by Pharrell,
“Promiscuous” by Nelly Furtado, and “Jump” by Madonna, to name a few. Following the 2005
solo anthem “Watch The Sunrise,” he linked up with Steve Angello in Supermode and earned a
hit in the form of “Tell Me Why.” In 2007, he gained momentum with “I Found U” [feat. Max’C],
soaring to #6 on the UK Singles Chart. His pro
fi
le rose by co-writing and co-producing Cyndi
Lauper’s “Rain On Me,” crafting “What A Wonderful World” [feat. Ron Carroll] with Bob Sinclar,
and collaborating with Dirty South on “Open Your Heart.” Plus, Adele enlisted him to remix
“Hometown Glory.”
During 2008, he joined forces with Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso to launch Swedish House
Ma
fi
a. The group e
ff
ectively took over the world. They notched back-to-back GRAMMY
®
nominations in the category of
“Best Dance Recording”
for the platinum “Save the World” in
2012 and quintuple-platinum “Don’t You Worry Child” in 2013. Building a catalog highlighted by
global anthems such as the gold-certi
fi
ed “Greyhound” and “One (Your Name),” they
simultaneously sold out legendary venues—including Milton Keynes Bowl and Madison Square
Garden—and delivered historic sets at
Coachella
,
Ultra Music Festival
, and beyond. Following
a
fi
ve-year hiatus, they returned as surprise headliners at
Ultra
2018 before embarking on
the
Save The World Reunion Tour
across European. Rekindling their chemistry, they assembled
what would become their long-awaited full-length debut,
Paradise Again
, in 2021.
Throughout the break, Axwell
Λ
Ingrosso vaulted to the forefront of electronic music. Their
2017 full-length debut,
More Than You Know
, housed a procession of smashes: “Something
New,” “On My Way,” “Sun Is Shining,” “I Love You” [feat. Kid Ink], the gold-certi
fi
ed “More
Than You Know,” and “Dreamer” [feat. Trevor Guthrie]. The album generated a staggering 5
billion total streams and counting. Meanwhile, the duo headlined
Tomorrowland
four
consecutive years in a row in addition to performing at
Governors Ball
,
Ultra Music Festival
,
and beyond. Following the 2018 single “Dancing Alone,” Axwell
Λ
Ingrosso went dormant as
Swedish House Ma
fi
a roared back to life.
Together, they reemerged with their long-awaited
debut album,
Paradise Again
, in 2022. Not only did it enter the Top 10 of charts in seven
countries, but It also clinched #1 on the
Billboard
Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and UK
Dance Albums Chart. Applauded by tastemakers worldwide,
Pitchfork
,
NME
, and more lauded
it. They teamed up with The Weeknd for the international smash “Moth To A Flame,” and it not
only appeared on
Paradise Again
but also on The Weeknd’s
Dawn FM
. On the latter, the guys
also co-wrote and co-produced “Sacri
fi
ce” and “How Do I Make You Love Me?” Meanwhile,
they linked up with The Weeknd for a historic
Coachella
headline performance as another high
watermark of this chapter.
Along the way, he claimed a spot on
DJ Mag
’s “Top 100 DJs” list nine times and snagged four
DJ Awards. Not to mention, he notched three GRAMMY
®
Award nominations—
“Best Remixed
Recording, Non-Classical”

Remix] in 2011 and Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl’s “In My Mind” [Axwell Remix] in 2013 as well
as
“Best Rap/Sung Collaboration”
for Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones” (which he co-produced).
In the end, Axwell continues to reach a new stratosphere with each evolution as he sets the
pace for electronic music and connects with audiences everywhere.
“To me, music means feelings,” he leaves o
ff
. “It doesn’t matter what the project is. The goal is
to heighten your emotions and enhance the world around you. That’s the essence of what I’m
doing, transferring feelings.”
